Jane and I just got back from a 15 minute drive downtown, just had to get out for a bit.
I have never seen anything like it since I lived one winter up in northern BC back in the late 70's. Hardly anything is moving, next to nothing is open, and from what we saw won't be for a few days. The driveways are so badly closed in by the plows that shoveling them just isn't even an option anymore for most. Parking lots have not been done, probably cause there is no where to put the snow. Roads are half as wide as they used to be and the banks are taller than the vehicles.
None of my hives are even bumps in the snow anymore, they are completely buried, and not by just a little. I am wondering if I should get out there and punch some air holes down to them, that's if I can even get out to any of my yards.
This is just nuts!  ;D

If you can make it out to your yards, get some snow shoes  ;)

Me thinks your new set of "warming" whiskers are counter-productive.   ;D

My wife was just telling me a story about a woman on one of the forums that she reads.  Her husband was driving home from work last night with a 4-wheel drive vehicle, and the snow got too deep to drive in, and he was still 4 km from home.  He stayed in the vehicle until about midnight, and the plow finally came through and made a path one car width wide, and he was able to finally get home.  That was in New Brunswick.
