"yes" is Young Entrepreneurs Society in Orange MA,  where I was serving thru the Americorps program when I signed up for a free email account.  2 is a number, which is homonymous to "to"   and Matt is my name. I've had that email account about 15 years, and am "yes2matt" all over the web.

One of our life goals was to own a small acreage with house out in the country that was completely mortgage free.   We always would say "Some Day" we will own this.  We purchased own home with 12 acres in Nov. 2009.  In November 2013 we were mortgage free.  We have a sign out front made from an Osage log that says "Some Day".

So, our apiary is named "Some Day", which I guess means bee killer based on the last couple of winters.

I was reading Stephen King's The Talisman at the same time I needed a name for another forum in the distant past. Travelin Jack's journey across the continent resonated with me as my family lived in a lot of different places while I was growing up. So, I became Wandering Man.

errrrr... G'day, howsyabumfergrubs, like :-)

"eltalia" is a"play on word" maybe loosely derived from The Italian being the style of EHB I am fond of, but they aren't Italian any more than I am. The bees that chose me to live with are Red Kelpies, and like all Red Dogs they know more than I do, so it is a bit like herding cats to have me do what they want me to do.
Yet we survive, which I look to WWB.com in transporting how well those Eltalia work little ol' me.

A huge "Hi Ya All" to those who know my work elsewhere... enjoy that
smile....heh ;-)))))

For others....?... a retired commercial operator my prime interest is in Trigona
for which I will get no help with here but maybe some others in Australia playing with our natives might just link up with myself who builds an extensive work library with
those lil' buggers. Ask and ye shalt receive ;-)

Welcome to the forum.

Not many aussies here,

I read your post not long after getting up. Still a little bog eyed.

I had to look up Trigona (stingless bee species). I am sure I've read posts about stingless bees. Not sure if it was WWB. From the aged fog of my mind I think it was something from Mosti.

I wonder if there is a trade off for being able to keep bees that don’t sting.

I wonder if there is a trade off for being able to keep bees that don’t sting.
Trigona pollinate flora which often rely on ants and flies or wasps for propagation, flora EHBs either cannot or won't get to. I guess there is one tradeoff of sorts.
They may not attack with a sting but they are not defenceless against Man. In fact whilst I rarely wear a veil working the Italians I always wear one when doing deep inspections of a Trigona colony.
Their class act is to send a few scouts down your ear canal whilst the main
force attach themselves enmasse to your eyelashes.
Using a combined effort the idea is to pull your eyelid shut. Keeps you busy if no veil is worn.

G'day....

I love it when I hear an original name for something like pets etc and have used words from the Zulu and Swahili languages to name my dogs, always sounded better than Fred or Burt etc

And so Hachi (according to the internet) is Japanese for Bee.  So there you have it.  Seemed a good idea at the time and I like it.
