Here I am, posting at the request of the "big boss".

When did we "go off", how long were we off and  how did it happen?

If you read this, it looks like this overseas branch of the forum is back on.

Thanks, ef. We were down most of the morning here. Came up about noon, with a 5 day loss of data. It is now 3:27 PM here.

i was very saddened at the loss of our data, 5 days of posts and threads, not to mention a number of new members that had joined up, and our stats.
i can't imagine the frustration iddee or our IT/admin must feel/went through, and the time spent to get us back up and running, thanks iddee, and thank you admin!

we will 'recover' from the loss and move forward! keep the posts coming, let's all do our best to get back on track!
everyone pitch in, if you started a thread or find a thread that you can remember a post from, do your best to post the thread again, or post back to the thread, and/or share your pictures.

thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The data was lost, not the members. New ones will hopefully sign up again, and the rest of us..  were already settled in..

Something just "went wrong" between me and the forum.  When I try to enter the forum via a link from my email (using the notification that someone has posted on a thread I've been watching) I get a notification that says  "An error has occurred" and "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."
How do I recover my status of being able to link in?

ef, it's highly probable that the thread or post no longer exists? was it to a thread we lost in the past 5 days?

You got it right---I realized that that could have been the reason for my problem only after I reported on it.   :-[

Sorry for the data loss.  It sure is frustrating to lose data. :'(

I STILL remember the first time I lost code on a computer; an old Apple 2.  What a bummer.  I’ve never used an Apple since although after Windows 8 that might change.  At least nowadays the NSA will have a copy of everything.

On a personal note, I seemed to have lost about 10 thank yous.  Feel free to add those back in. ;D

the data loss was great, and very, very unfortunate. we lost a great deal of posts and threads, personal messages, and also new members who had signed up in those 5 days, we can't contact them, their email addresses were lost, so hopefully the new members who had signed up in those 5 days read the banner and sign back up again.
we all lost post counts, thread counts and thank you's. unfortunately, these numbers can't be recovered/replaced.
we took a great hit on our overall stats as a forum. in time this won't matter.

as far as thank you's?  a big thank you to iddee and our IT/admin to get this forum back up and running in a short period of time just after the crash.

thank you iddee. thank you admin.
