Spring in less than a week!
« on: March 15, 2015, 10:20:32 am »
Really??

Woke up to this today and it's just started. The driveway was clear and there was almost no snow on the shed roof.

I just don't see how you do it Perry.
By now I would just be so bummed out of seeing all of the white stuff.
Things are starting to bloom a little and the grass is getting greener, bees are flying good now.
Sun is finally shining today after several days of rain and gloomy weather, nothing but mud around here.
Going to be up to about 70 F for the next couple of days but then the rain and gloom set back in.
Bees are bees and do as they please!

Ugh, we've gotten so much snow this winter, I'm sick of it! And it was just starting to melt away too :( forecast is calling for some rain in the week, so hopefully that will help clear some of this out...

Also, though I'm still up in Moncton for another month(We've got ridiculous amounts of snow here too, after this storm we'll have gotten nearly 4 meters of it this winter! I have a ground-floor room on campus, and my window is still mostly covered) :/ I was looking to clear out some brush the beginning of the month to prepare for a flower bed and mark where I'm hoping to set up shop this spring, but unfortunately there was too much snow to make the trek  maybe snowshoes would be a good investment for next year...

Its only mid March. I have a long ways to go before I’m done with snow. today I woke up to an inch of new snow with 30 mph wind. Temp was 25. I still have about a foot of frozen snow lift on the ground to melt. Next 5 days call for below normal temp with a slight warming by next weekend.

That's just downright cruel Slow! During one of the biggest storms in Nova Scotia, I posted a pic of some crocus in our yard and it just about put Perry over the edge

Maples, They just popped open here today.
The cedar trees look like the are smoking on fire, the pollen is tremendous.

G3, that's funny you mention cedars. We have three nice cedars in our back alley. I have yet to see the bees gather pollen from them.

You got snow, I got the rain.  Much happier with the rain.  I can almost see my front yard again
I'm starting to think that the bees are keeping me...

It got up to 82F here today.  Me and Dad bush hogged the right of way on the new property and ran a disc harrow over some of it.  I want to get white and yellow clover sewed before it starts raining Wednesday night.  There should be lots of wild flowers coming up, too.  Plus I want to get lavender started out there.  So hopefully things are going in the right direction.

Dad starting the bush hogging:

Dad with the disc harrow:

You can even see the deer blind now that the weeds are mowed down:
