Took a walk and could really smell the nectar
« on: March 23, 2015, 07:30:41 am »
Took a walk with my wife last night and went by a few trees on the way. We were within about 20 feet of the trees and could really smell the sweetness of the blossoms. I don't have a very good nose and could still smell it. I told my wife that if the bees couldn't find any nectar in those trees, they need to work a little harder.  :)

I'm not exactly sure but I think it's some kind of non fruit bearing plum tree.

We have a fruitless plum in our town, they are all over the place. They have profuse pink blooms, then when the blooms drop the leaves are very dark brown. Bees are all over it

What has caught my senses tho, is how intense the sweetness of the hives are. When I lift the lid the perfume is sweet, pungent and very strong. So Intoxicating

Me too, Jen. Something I don't remember noticing last year. It really is aroma therapy!
