Qeen cell acceptance by a strong hive

This is something new I intend to try this year.  I know lots about introducing a queen into a hive, but nothing about introducing a ripe queen cell.   Do the same rules apply?  Leave the hive queenless for 24 hrs before popping in the queen cell?  Should the queen cell be protected with a push in cage?  Should the queen cell be moved a few days before emergence, or fairly close to emergence?

Hive should be queenless a few hours.
Cell should be NO MORE than 72 hours from emerging. 24 is better. Cells are much easier to get accepted than mated queens.

Pistol,

We are doing this today, our grafts a due to start hatching tomorrow and Tuesday. We made up the mating nucs yesterday and will be inserting the queen cells today.
