Eaten alive
« on: April 17, 2015, 09:08:46 pm »
Normally, bees in a swarm don't sting, but when you cut a limb and 5 gallon of bees drop on your head and shoulders, they DO sting.

About 50 on the right arm, 30 or more on the left arm, and I won't even guess at how many on the head and face.  Finally had to cut the whole tree down to get them, but, by golly, they are  in the hive.  Just another fun day in the bee yard, except they weren't even my bees. The lady did say thank you, tho, so that makes it all worthwhile.   :D

Slept good last night and went fishing this morning. 3 of us caught 15 nice catfish and 23 white perch.
Planning a fish fry tomorrow afternoon.

Hooded jacket in the truck. Just can't understand why it didn't protect me, with it being in the truck and me on a ladder in a tree.  :D

Put it on afterward and continued with the catch. Cut the tree down when they reassembled higher up. Sat the hive next to them after they hit the ground. They marched right in then.

No hairy ears or chest here. I only shave every 2 weeks. I'm much further down the evolution line.  :P   :D

Probably. Cherokees pop up several times on the limbs of the family tree.

I feel for you Iddee!  I went home for the beevac after taking 15 - 20 stings trying to drop a swarm a week ago. Fortunately they were through clothing stings, not that much venom except the one that went up my pantleg.  I got my full suit and boots with that beevac, and they are a nice 4 lb swarm in their hive now.

Queen excluder is keeping drones and queens in for the moment, want to give them a couple of weeks to get really set up before I figure out how to get it off. Hope they aren't AHB

I tried rubbing Rogaine on my chest.  Didn't work.  :(
