Sixth and Seventh Swarms today. The sixth was around noon today. It was very small (pocket swarm). I couldn't find the queen but hived them in a nuc anyway. I went back to check them around 5pm and they swarmed right in front of me and flew off to the west like the last swarm I lost. I didn't chase them this time.
Seventh came by way of a Facebook post which a fellow LEO friend saw and in turn notified me. I drove to Bengal in Shelby County around 7pm. Not sure what time it was exactly. Anyway, they were hanging 6-7 feet off of the ground on small tree. Backed up and shook them in a deep box. It was was going to be dark in a soon so I stuck around until they all calmed down. Learned some great history about the owner's family farm including a very neat photo and introduced her young man to metal detecting a little. Thanks Debbie for looking out for the bees and allowing me to capture them! Drove back home and placed them in their spot in the yard.
