Blueblood's Eleventh Swarm 2015 Same Tree As Last Year!
« on: May 27, 2015, 10:26:25 pm »
Eleventh Swarm for this season.  I caught a swarm here on Willow Street last year on May 21 in the same small Magnolia Tree.  I had a Swarm trap pretty close to the base of the Maple where the mother hive is located about 18 feet from the ground.  The homeowner (86 years old) is great! She calls swarms "bag of bees."  She calls them that because when she saw them last year, she thought a plastic grocery sack had blown in and affixed to her tree!

Eleventh Swarm for this season.

You could be racking up some dough if you're selling these swarms.   8)

Your right!  But, I have been replenishing my yard.  I have room for one more.  20 was my goal for 2015.  25 for 2016.

Crazy right!  This has been a record number of swarms for me in one season so far.  I like it!  Now that I hit my goal for the yard, I just may sell some nucs from any further swarms like Modem was saying.

Dang, send some of those swarms this way!
I have only had two calls for bee removals this spring.. nothing in any of the old bee trees I know of, and the bee barn is eerily silent from the humming of wings as well..  Nothing left to swarm unless its from my hives...   Considering allowing THAT just to get bees in the area again!
