Blueblood's Fourteenth Swarm 2015

Second swarm today but this one was in my yard.  Thinking it came from one of my top bar hives.  Estimated 4+ pounds.

Wow, you are having the luck of the Irish this season!  Congratulations!  If I remember from your previous video, you used lemongrass oil to lure them in?

Irish is in my blood!  I used lemon grass oil with this one and most others.  I think it helps.  I guess I wonder what causes the bees to march in, the lemon grass, the smell and action of the masses? The wax in the hive?  Maybe a combination of them all and many more reasons? Because, like in this case, the queen was not in yet and they were marching in.

I think you need to start naming your swarms like they do with the tropical storms   :D

How many hives do you want to attain?
I would suggest that at some point you start merging swarms and get two or three togther to give you one "instant" full sized family, ready to produce honey this season.
Could it be that you'll wait until you run out of floors and roofs?
