Greetings from New Hampshire
« on: January 03, 2014, 08:49:25 am »
Just joined the WX Forum ( a weather forum at wxforum.net) and one of the members told me about this group. It looks excellent and I look forward to being a member. Started winter with 12 hives and 10 nucs spread over 2 apiaries. Will be interesting to see how they are doing as it's heading to -17 tonight. 2014 will be my 7th season. Starting a small orchard (16 trees and approx 45 blueberry bushes) and will also develop pollinator habitat this year.

Hello Honey Meadow:
Glad you found us and welcome aboard. You are near my area and must be getting tired of getting slammed with the snow and cold as well.
I am trying 6 nucs over winter here but with this weather I'm not optimistic.

Thanks, all. I will start a thread about the pollinator habitat–hopefully this weekend.

How did you do in this latest storm, Perry? I'm located near the southern VT/NH border and we "only" got about 9" tho it is currently a balmy 7º! No time to check on the ladies today. I hear the coast was hammered. Hope you missed most of it.

Still going on. They just pulled all buses and police off the roads except in emergencies.
