Yeah baby! It's back, and it works!

Did 2 of my neighbours driveways as well.  All done!

The pics must be blurry from all the cold. That doesn't look like your wife behind that machine.  :P

Glad to see you got it running!  :)

I never knew they had headlights.  Do much nighttime snow removal?

What's a fella to do? My wife's works from home, but when I mentioned the driveway she just says "I'm at work". Not sure what's up with that!!  ???
Yes, we do have to do night time removal as well if you want to get to work in the morning. My neighbour across the street leaves here at 6 am for the hour plus commute to Halifax everyday. At this time of year he leaves and gets back home in the pitch dark.

I forgot that the nights get longer as one heads north.  I remember a Michelob commercial with an Eskimo smiling as he welcomed a young lady into his igloo for the night.

I thought I had lost those insulated coveralls. I tried to find 'em last year and couldn't. We finally unpacked a couple more boxes and there they were!  ;D
They're bulky, but waaaaaarm!

I have shamelessly copied this from another forum.   8)

You can substitute Wisconsin, Michigan, Nova Scotia, etc., for Minnesota as needed:

Cold Is A Relative Thing

65°
Arizonans turn on the heat.
People in Minnesota plant gardens.

60°
Californians shiver uncontrollably.
People in Minnesota sunbathe.

50°
Italian & English cars won't start.
People in Minnesota drive with the windows down..

40°
Georgians don coats, thermal underwear, gloves, wool hats.
People in Minnesota throw on a flannel shirt.

35°
New York landlords finally turn up the heat.
People in Minnesota have the last cookout before cold weather sets in.

20°
People in Miami all die.
Minnesotans close the windows.

Californians fly away to Mexico.
People in Minnesota get out their winter coats.

10° below zero:
Hollywood disintegrates.
The Girl Scouts in Minnesota are selling cookies door to door.

20° below zero:
Washington DC runs out of hot air.
People in Minnesota let the dogs sleep indoors.

30° below zero:
Santa Claus abandons the North Pole.
Minnesotans get upset because they can't start the snowmobile.

40° below zero:
ALL atomic motion stops.
People in Minnesota start saying..."Cold enough for ya?"

50° below zero:
hades freezes over.
Minnesota public schools will open two hours late.

Grew up near International Falls, Minnesota. Some of those things are not so far from the truth except I don't ever remember a late day to school even when it was 50 below. Interesting that in the 1950s I don't remember my cousin who kept bees ever worrying about losing them to the cold.

They must be getting soft.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered all Minnesota public schools to close statewide Monday as dangerous cold looms. Forecasters are expecting frigid temperatures to arrive Sunday night and stay through Tuesday morning. Wind chill readings could plummet to 60 degrees below zero Monday morning.

I think Riverbee puts on a helmet when she hears snow plows like yours working in the vicinity.

At -30 to -60 it is questionable to whether they will get the new buses to start. they don't build them like they use to where you could empty a can of either into the carb to get them started.

I recall very vividly our buss driver busting drifts as we all cheered and urged him on...   I walked two blocks to the buss stop, never had a problem.  YES, it was cold but.. that was just the way it was.
Now they cancel if the weather has better than a 60% chance of getting bad.

Walked outside this morning, and said to the wife..  "OOH! Its NICE out!!!"   Looked at the thermomenter and it said 22.......      THATS when you know its been a rough winter.
-50 wind chill???   Truck is backed into the garage so I can drive the 70 yards to the wood shed for the next few mornings. If the garage door is frozen shut, then the gas over ride in the furnace will have to kick in cuz I aint going out!
