As a friend of mine says: "you couldn't kill Riverbee with a .38 caliber pistol." I don't worry about her being harmed, but I do worry about those around her until she has recovered."
Seriously, here's hoping and praying all is well, and that Riverbee makes a full and timely recovery. I think she will, as she is in good health and has the drive and desire to "get back on her feet."
The blessing here is that modern day medicine allows our bodies to be repaired. I have lens implants in both eyes and have 20:20 vision. My maternal grandfather was blind after age 65. I have two knee implants that allows me to move about without pain. My mom lived in constant, unrelenting pain the last 12 years of her life. Ten years ago I had a stint installed in my heart, and now at age 76 I still work in the oil patch and keep a ranch. Ah, the miracle of modern medicine. Riverbee will have a couple of months of inconvenience and pain, and then she will be so much better than before the operation. Just think, she may become more pleasant without the pain from moving around.
This old pioneer stock gal will get this done.
