Hi River  :)  By the time you get this you'll prob be tucking yourself into bed. I have a lovely candle burning for you, sending the light and healing smoke your way. Can you hear my native american drums tapping for you?  :D  Looking forward to your first post after your surgery. Love you Girl!

The hospital staff must have already taken you around for several nice walks with your new hip.  AAAhhh, the pleasure of moving that limb without all the pain that used to cause agony with every step.

I sent RB an email this morning. Here is her reply.

"hi wally, thank you!
what a caring community!  it has been a bit of a rough week, but i am doing alright. please post for me and tell everyone i will be posting an update sometime today when i am more coherent even if it is only to say hello.  i was released late thursday, and am very anemic again. hard to function or think straight with the low blood level not to mention the narcotics. surgery went well, whoop i have 2 new wheels!  this morning was the first day i opened my laptop and read all the replies to my thread in my email client.  sure made my day, i was going to send you an email to let you know i am okay (just punky and real foggy) and read yours!  thank you!

please just let everyone know you have heard from me and i am doing alright and will be posting an update later today when i am up to it.""

Okay RB!! That's the way to go. .   Remember, writing long letters is great medicine to help the time go by and to distract you from the discomfort of your healing process.   But don't overdo it---or we won't have time to read any other threads on the forum.   ;D
Eat plenty of liver  :-X and get your blood count back up to normal.   We don't want any of our administrators to be called "dizzy dames".

Our prayers are still active on your behalf.

As a friend of mine says: "you couldn't kill Riverbee with a .38 caliber pistol."  I don't worry about her being harmed, but I do worry about those around her until she has recovered."  :)

Seriously, here's hoping and praying all is well, and that Riverbee makes a full and timely recovery.  I think she will, as she is in good health and has the drive and desire to "get back on her feet."

The blessing here is that modern day medicine allows our bodies to be repaired.  I have lens implants in both eyes and have 20:20 vision.  My maternal grandfather was blind after age 65.  I have two knee implants that allows me to move about without pain.  My mom lived in constant, unrelenting pain the last 12 years of her life.  Ten years ago I had a stint installed in my heart, and now at age 76 I still work in the oil patch and keep a ranch.  Ah, the miracle of modern medicine.  Riverbee will have a couple of months of inconvenience and pain, and then she will be so much better than before the operation.  Just think, she may become more pleasant without the pain from moving around.  :)

This old pioneer stock gal will get this done.

Eh, modern medicine will be able to patch him up after she's through with him.

I haven't heard that phrase in many a year!  A dear friend, who has been gone for a long time, said something similar to me.  She said I was made "of pioneer stock".  A compliment, for sure.
