Look what I found!
« on: September 08, 2015, 03:25:20 pm »

Preparing to evaporate some oxalic acid, I knew I had to cover my screened bottom boards.  Pulled off my bottom deep and look what had built herself a nice home.!!  When I brush my cats out in the yard, I just toss the fur into the woods for the critters to use for their nests.  Well, I guess Momma mouse did just that because the entire nest was made from my cats fur.  The mice are now part of the sewer system!

When I started beekeeping this Spring, I wanted to try a wood hive and a polystyrene.  What I don't like about the poly is the bottom screened board design.  It has ventilation holes??  on the very bottom giving access to anything that wants to crawl in there.  I don't anticipate the boxes will last as long either, find them to be brittle.

my cats were indoor cats, they were fed well  :D.........outdoor cats catch the buggers and dine on them.......but anyway, the indoor cats loved to chase em around, catch em, and when they finally died of a heart attack or whatever, they still threw them up in the air to get them to move so they could chase them again....... :D

and once in awhile they would bring them to my feet.........or face, depending on the time of day.......... :D

i had one great hunter that would bolt out the screen door and catch the chipmunks running by........ :D

good 'catch' by you les, they make a mess of a hive in short order.
