Do Bees feel Humidex (feel like temperature)
« on: September 14, 2015, 09:17:23 pm »
We want to treat our bees with Mite Away quick Strips, and even though it is the middle of September our temperatures here in Nova Scotia  are around 25 C with the Humidex (feel like temperature) hitting 30 C + which is really to hot to use the strips.  So my question is are bees affected by the humidity and the feel like temperature it creates, or should we be OK to treat.   Thanks in advance for your comments :-\

Yes when it comes to drying honey but no when using formic acid

Hey 40 Acre Bees, I put my MAQS on yesterday. I am with you on the temp thing but it is just getting so late in the season our winter bees are starting to be raised and we want them healthy. It would have been ideal had the temps been lower but I pulled the trigger yesterday. Fingers crossed. The temps will jump again on Thursday but most of the treatment is released in the first 3 or 4 days so I am told.
