That's What I Get
« on: November 08, 2015, 06:45:40 pm »
See what I get for complaining about the health care system......."hospitalized"!!!   The I can't catch my breath feeling started on Thursday afternoon.  Long night of teeth chattering chills alternating with sweats.  By the time we got to the ER Friday morning I was running a 103.8
temperature and the doctor telling me they think I have tick borne bacteria called Ehrlichiosis. Three types of antibiotics and I have gone into full blown Asthma also.

So, I thought I was invincible from being bitten by the deer tick, checked myself every time I came in from working outside but it still got me.  So this is warning to everyone, take precautions!  :'(

Any way for them to get a definitive test or are they just think it is? and if that they have you on is not working then try something else. Medicine by trial and error.
hope it works and you recover quickly. Until then the milk it tor every thing you can, See how much Ken really loves you!!!

God be with you Les.  It appears this is not a life threatening disease, but it is a serious strain on one's health, so take care of yourself and get well soon.

Jen, they ruled out Lyme just waiting for blood cultures.  CAT scan and echocardiogram.

I am HOME SWEET HOME! Now I can break in my new couch but not too much.  They are debating what is wrong with me.  Blood cultures have shown nothing.  Back to infectious disease doc on Monday.

You are so right Jack!

Thanks everyone for all your good wishes ❤️ and please keep me entertained the next couple weeks with lots of info and stories!  My entertainment for this afternoon is watching the town trucks pick up leaves LOL!

Les, I just spotted your "health" post a few minutes ago---too late for me to wish you back home speedily, but not too late to wish you to "stay well".  I, for one  (with many others, I'm sure), am glad to hear that lyme disease has been ruled out----that's a real debilitator.
Godspeed to you.

Jen, I remember that hahaha.  When they told me in the hospital they needed to stick a needle in my stomach (every day to prevent blood clots), I thought "piece of cake" after being bagged by my girls.

I will read any and everything you folks post.  Especially Iddee's jokes!

Still chilling on the couch.  Very, very weak....doesn't take much to take the wind out of my sails.  Since I am still on antibiotics, I am thinking that is causing some of the exhaustion.  Go back to infectious disease doc on Monday.  I am hoping that they have ruled out a tick borne infection but the pneumonia was a definite.

the pneumonia was a definite.
An infection in the lungs that are required for the oxygenation of the blood. Pneumonia will cause you to be winded when your lungs are not functioning at full capacity.
Hope the antibiotics take care of it quickly for you.
