Christmas gifts
« on: December 01, 2015, 08:13:30 am »
At 63 and 72 we don't need anything and if we want something, we go out and buy it.  I am trying to convince my daughter to please stop with the presents.  All we want is to see their smiling faces and enjoy their company.  My enjoyment at the holidays is decorating, baking, music and spending times with friends. Has anyone else reached this point in life?

The real gift for me is seeing the smiles on the grand kids :)

I tell my kids to make it or do it. No buying allowed. Either give me their time to help me do a project or make something themselves. Nothing their money can buy that I want and don't have.

We try and do the "make it" thing as well. Most of our gifts for others almost always involve a basket full of goodies. My son usually gets something electronic, this year thinking maybe a phone. My wife and I usually get something we both want, but she usually cheats and gets me something extra (it already arrived and had UltraBreeze on the package at the post office!) ;D
