Meet Trooper the rescue dog!
« on: February 28, 2016, 04:54:47 pm »
Two years ago I picked up this puppy up off a highway job in Merced CA. The vet figured he was about 5 months old. He was starving, one of his lower eyelids was torn and infected. Took him home (I was working out of town), turns out he had parvo. The vet some how saved his life, and he earned the name "Trooper". So parvo treatment, eye surgery, neutering... $1600.00 later I had another dog. My Great Pyrenees instantly bonded with him and the two together are the epitome of mutt and Jeff. A constant source of joy in our lives!

We saved a cat like that. Broken hip required surgery, 1 fang had to be removed, cyst removed, he was a mess. A little over 1 grand later and Hercules was ours for the next 8 years..
We had another cat called Polly that was sickly, turns out she had diabetes and the vet said "enjoy your time with her". We went to another vet who taught us how to inject her with insulin and she was with us for another 4 years. Every morning she would meet us at the fridge where she got a treat and we took out the insulin and jabbed her. :)
Ya gotta good heart Commander.
