Spring project
« on: March 14, 2016, 10:21:48 am »
Went and purchased enough raw materials for 20 new boxes, and 3 sets of hive ends (bottom board, inner and outer cover) as well as the frames to go in them.   I might actually be ready this year!

It's finally been nice weather here... Got all hive ends cut and assembled (3 bottom boards, 3 "Lazy" inner covers, and 4 telescoping covers), 18 boxes cut and ready to be assembled and thus far, approx 80 frames rough cut.  I still need to finish the top bars, but other than that they will be ready to be assembled too!  Productive weekend if I say so myself!

Sorry Riverbee, ordered 2 packages from the beekeeping association here, and have some nucs from Lazy when they are ready as well...

Spent the day going through hives. Have one hive that has an emerged queen cell...   strange laying pattern, will give her a week to straighten out, then i will be preparing to make queens and nucs..   Have a dozen hives that are already 4 mediums tall and packed with bees... hoping I can beat the swarms!   The bees being ahead of schedule by two weeks or so is really messing up my timing!!!
