It was too cold, not many bees flying, so we didn't really muck about in the hives. Townson was a great help in moving some hives though. I have closed one yard down but at the same time opened up two new ones, all in abandoned orchards. Here is Townson helping strap up some hives and then we loaded them in my truck and moved them. We had to leave one hive behind because I messed up and disturbed them before I got the entrance blocked and few hundred bees came out to greet us. I tried to convince Townson to just ignore them and grab the front half of the hive but he wasn't having any of it!

We had a great time driving around to all but one of my yards, and got a bit of work done at the same time. He will have to come back once things warm up and we can rip into them proper.

It's really easy once you wrap your head around the fact that you will never be rich and will barely make ends meet. If vacations are your thing, or driving anything newer than at least 6 or 7 years old, or want to live in a house for 4 years and still not have any trim or baseboards up......... you get the idea. It's all a matter of priorities. Enjoying life, meeting nice people, breathing fresh air, working with nature............yeah, I can live without a few of those other things. ;)

Nice looking equipment Perry! In comparison, my bees live in old run-down shacks    I'm sure it was nice to have some extra help too!

Wait, he woulnt grab the front of that hive to help you move it Perry?  >:( Ted gets a little jumpy around mean bees but has never refused to help!!   Zweefer just points to his face and says STINGER!  Other helpers dont seem to complain much either, But, I do suspect it might have something to do with me telling them to put their big girl panties on and stop crying!

No worries, if he shows up more often you will eventually get Townson broken in to the point he no longer questions your directives!!  ;D

Perry and Townson, I'm glad for the both of you!  There's something fun an special about hanging around "working" with another beekeeper.  Matter of fact I'm sitting here laughing while I reminisce!  Not sure what it's like for the two of you guys but Lazy and me?  I like to think of him as the "mastermind" and while he refers to me as his sidekick, I do so preffer "evil henchman".  Ted

Why didn't you take the front of the hive, Perry?

Evil Henchman? OK, I admit you have an evil grin, that aside Ted, the ARTISTRY in your painting is just GLORIOUS to behold. I have never seen hive components painted so perfectly, and smoothly..  It almost makes me not want to put bees in them, because bees means I will have to use a hive tool and chip that paint!!!  I told you man, you need to sign and date every thing you paint!!

I tired that wit the wife Lazy, didn't work.  I thought it was her looks that got me but apparently it doesn't take many brains to see though my feeble attempts.  Got to sign up for some G3 lessons, workshop maybe?

I'm so jealous of you guys having someone to hive around with.  I feel like I have leprosy or something when I mention bees to anyone, except when its honey time.
