If the hive swarmed about the time those cells were capped, it would be another ten to twelve days before the queen emerged, and possibly up to another week depending on weather for her to get mated and start laying, so there should be eggs..  If no eggs, what did they make the new queen cells with?  So, I am wondering what you have in those cells.....

This thread (and others) really point out how complicated a diagnosis can be when figuring these little insects out.

No Kidding Neil! I was getting pretty good at diagnosing the last couple of springs, but this one's got me stumped. I think I'll check back on this hive in a week and see of those queen cells have done anything... Shrug  :-\\
