Wow! I was in the yard taking care of a swarm in progress and then another colony decided to swarm.  The swarms mixed wires so to speak and by the grace of God, I found both queens.  And, despite the fact that many bees intertwined, the queens were accepted by both new hives.

Great video Dave. Just how big do you intend to get? "need more equipment" =  :D
Did you ever consider building a couple swarm catching posts, something like a hangman's noose post, or a large letter "T" to make it easier to pick these swarms up? I seem to remember reading about some old fella who had a few of those in his yards and he would just drive by every day and often see swarms hanging off them.

I need to build more equipment Perry! I am bursting at the seams!  I will have to consider the posts.  I may put a few in the yard where the trees have been catching the swarms and see what happens.

Thanks for the video.  In my mind, you are the "swarm master."  I hope all of the forum members appreciate your great documentaries.  You are not some Ph.D. entomologist or a well known professional beekeeper, you are a part of US, the "great unwashed."  Your beekeeping and cinematograpy skills are off the scale.

THANKS

how many swarms are from your hives compared to the ones you have been called out to? It is nice that they are picking the small trees and not landing up in the tall trees at the back.

6 from yard and 2 from elsewhere.  The calls from the public have been low this season so far...
