Thanks everyone.  Yea, I know the big guy personally. I have him on speed dial for ALL my bee questions!  I live about 10 minutes from Wally. 

New to bee keeping personally.  My father has done it for many many years.  I did not want to get into this by myself.  My youngest son decided last year after visiting his grandpa that he wanted to get into bee keeping.  We bought one package this year.  We have a split from a very well established colony and it is doing well.  We have colony that consists of two small swarms Wally captured and is doing well.  I have a small swarm that I captured three weeks ago and trying to beef it up.

Going with the big guy himself tomorrow and my son and I are going to learn how to do a trap out.

Enough info? I am here to learn, learn, learn.

Like perry said this is a second home to us, but we make some of our brothers have a passport to come and see us.  :laugh: :laugh: Jack

That's ok!  I'll let him make me do all the work!  I learn so much. 

We got to the trap out and it turned out to be a swarm and the swarm left.  Wally had to leave for an appointment but he gave me the number and directions for someone with a swarm 30+ feet in the air in a tree.  I got there and he walked me through via phone how to set up a bucket on the end of bamboo and capture the swarm that way.  I got it!  My first totally solo swarm capture.  Sure was exciting.

I told you I have him on speed dial!

Good deal!  But beware of giving him your phone number.. he will call and cuss you out if you dont post often enough!!!!  Or, god forbid, take a weekend off!    :laugh:
