that is a mason bee block that is in slices, I bought it from Crown Bees a couple of years ago. got better after this photo, found more ant action, opened the wrong layer and found mason bee larva. I did get the ants out, get the little larva lined up between their pollen stores, closed it up and put it in a clear breadbox on my kitchen table where there are no ants, with a damp sponge on top for humidity. Too hit in the garage, too cold in the fridge
