There is early encouraging news. Carrie called and she is very pleased with her doc. They are assigning her a team of surgeons, an oncologist and a gastroenterologist. They indicated that the surgery may not be as involved as her local doc led her to believe. She has high confidence and renewed hope. :) :) :)

Well, daughter child had her surgery day before yesterday. They had to remove the upper lobe of her left lung. She's in the hospital as of this post because the lung was still leaking but she is improving and may come home tomorrow. Then, once she recovers from the surgery we will find out what chemo/radiation protocol she will have to endure. Like her mother shes a tough cookie.

I thank you all  for your prayers and well wishes.

I wanted to update this for all the sweet folks that joined us in prayers and healing vibes.

Carrie is going through chemo right now and of course, feeling miserable. I keep trying to get her to take a pic for all my internet beekeeping friends who have so kindly offered prayers and well wishes. She has promised me one soon.

The prognosis is quite grim but we remain hopeful.

This is one from about 10 years ago.

This is one she and boyfriend did on a lark

few years ago on porch

When I was building her house.

Neil:

Beautiful girl child, fun picture of her and boyfriend on a lark, and she shows a great sense of humor.  That's a wonderful asset.  I am distressed to hear the prognosis is grim.  I will keep her in my prayers, and please believe that prayers are answered, maybe not the way we wish, but they are answered.

God bless you and your daughter and keep the faith.

Praying for Carrie, Neil. My daughter (Jackie) has an appointment at the Mayo clinic Jan. 24, 2017, her doctor wanted to put her on disability, but she said No, i'm going to keep teaching until i can't.Her boss said that was fine with him and if she needs anything what so ever, just let him know. She has a elec. scooter to get around on at school and we got her a lift chair for home. Her sons bosses mother passer away with ALS and still had her elec. wheel chair, and when he heard about Greg's mother( Jackie) he gave it to Jackie so she could have one at home. She is in good spirits every time we see her (i hope it's not for our sake) but it breaks my heart and her mothers to see her not able to walk. At school she has a student teacher to help her out and every teacher in the grade school and her boss stops by several times a day to offer her any help. The world is still full of good hearted, caring, loving people, regardless of what we see on the news every night. Been prying for iddee's daughter also, hope she's on the mend. Looks like the 3 of us daughters are in Gods hands. Thank all of you for caring and your prayers. Jack

I sent this thread to my daughter today. Maybe if you two could get them on here, it may help them to have someone to communicate about it with. Not very proper English there, but i hope you get my meaning.

Hi Mikey, that is a procedure that takes time to heal from. My hubby has also had 3 surgeries, his veins get clogged up with plaque as fast the docs are putting stints into the arteries of his legs. And then 18 months ago an aneurism was found in his aeorta below his heart. It the time for all of us over 50 to go into continual repair mode. But it harder when it's our kids of any age.

Jack and Iddee,

I was at Carrie's yesterday for a Thanksgiving get-together. I showed her this thread and she read it through with tears in her eyes. She asked if you could pm me your daughter's e-mails she would like to get in touch with them for mutual support.

Riverbee, she was very touched by your offer when she was at Mayo.
