Wax moths
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:02:12 pm »
Found some in the hive tonight, killed one adult and about 20 larvae. How can I make sure they are gone?
Thanks

if you had some BT I would spray that frame. It will kill any that eat that wax comb. You may can find all the wax worms and put your hive tool in them and check again in a couple of days.

If you have, or can get, BT, then spray ALL frames. If not, remove enough frames to where the bees can cover all frames, even if you have to go to a smaller box.

Iddee what's the reason for removing frames, is this a way to let the bees manage the problem for themselves?

A box half full of bees will succumb to the moths.

A full box of bees will destroy the moths.
