ADDING WET SUPERS
« on: September 29, 2016, 03:59:54 pm »
Once extraction is complete are there any disadvantages to adding wet supers back onto the hives for clean up by the bees
. Good idea or not?

Put them back on, but on top of the inner cover and close the hole off just enough to allow a few bees through. They will want to clean up the supers and pack it away below the inner cover where they really want it.

Disadvantage for me.

I have to take such supers to my out apiary. Leave to be cleared then bring back home. Dry supers then need wax moth prevention and storage.

With wet supers, I find it easier to bag, seal and stack. Apparently a wet super deters wax moth.
