I saw that heading in my most recent Sears advertisement email.
I had no idea what they were talking about. I thought it might be a misprint. I thought maybe it was a cute way to sell me a new stove. Wife will sometimes cook with a double-boiler, so a new stove would make the boiler hot.
Then I opened the email.
Start-up Special includes:
•Visually inspect vent system for corrosion, leaks, or blockages.
•Visually confirm free flow of air to the boiler.
•Visually inspect relief valve and water system around boiler for sign of leaks, weeping, and deterioration.
•Visually check pilot and main burner.
•Check safety controls and operating controls for proper operation.
•Check operating temperature and pressure.
•Check port on burner tubes for deterioration and/or debris.
•Verify proper fill valve operation.
And then I just felt a bit of sadness for all of my beekeeping friends who live North of me, and who knew exactly what Sears was selling the moment they read the title.
...
But my sadness didn't last too long. As you can see, I couldn't wait to rub it in that our winters are so mild I don't even know what a boiler is!
