R.I.P. sweet Rosie.
« on: January 20, 2014, 07:50:25 am »
Our beloved Greyhound Rosie who had just celebrated her 10th year of life (the last 6 with us) suffered a stroke last night. I took her to the vet who graciously opened his office and made her comfortable with several medications. I received a call this am that she has crossed the bridge.

awww....  sad day...  Makin me cry just thinking about losing my best friend.  It's nearly as bad as losing one of your
children.

This one adopted me at between four and five weeks of age..   I WANTED to keep her brother, he was a beautiful black and tan male..  but this one started following me around. Shes the third one from the left.

I fell in love with her,....  Now she goes with me everywhere, sits in my chair with me and lays at my feet while I work or play on the computer. When momma is away on work trips she keeps me warm, curling up beside me on the bed. When Squirrels, Rabbits or Buzzards threaten my truck she defends it with her LIFE!!

Losing her is going to hurt like the dickens...  I empathize Perry..  More than you know.

I've enjoyed seeing her in the background of several of your  pictures.  She always seemed to belong there so naturally.
Sorry she's gone.  I'm sure you'll keep many pleasant memoriers of her.  I think of your son---he's probably the one taking it hardest of you all.  Maybe you can ease his pain by getting a replacement.  It won't be the same, but it should at least partially fill the void.

I know your pain Perry, we have lost 4 dogs in the past 5 years and it was not easy, I can think about them today and almost start crying, they are hard to let go. We have 3 now and don't know if they will be replaced when they are gone or not.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I am sure you have many memories that will allow her to continue to be with you even in her absence.  I have suffered the same pain you are feeling now. I have 4 four legged  family members now and I truly dread the day when one of them leaves us. But they do give us so many wonderful memories.

You and your family will be in our prayers.

So sorry to hear that Perry I know she was a big part of your family. Even if she did take the best seat in the house.

Sure feel for you, friend. I went through it a few months back. Not easy at all.

Not looking forward to the day my friend has to go.  This is our normal position in the evening...

Many mornings I have woken in this chair with her still beside me...   she does snore worse than my wife though...

So sorry to hear about Rosie, Perry.  I think I have told you before, we had a rescue Greyhound with the exact same markings.  Fabulous dog and what a show off.  My only regret was that our house is small and Eddie, aka Quick Fix, would have enjoyed another greyhound companion.  Eddie developed bone cancer, but he lived to about 11.
