New batch of Mead!
« on: December 14, 2016, 02:16:53 pm »
I just delivered 400 lbs. of honey a couple of weeks ago, but it is still in the tank and hasn't been filtered yet. It will be the original Valley Nectar. I got to have a "sip" today, and it is fantastic. The batch before that was just bottled this week and it is their Sparkling Mead. It hasn't even been labelled yet.

Planters Ridge, the winery that uses my honey to make their meads has been out of both for some time.  The demand for these meads has caught everyone by surprise. Unlike a lot of mead that is being made, the honey in their mead is allowed to ferment verses being added as a back sweetener. I wish I could describe the taste for you.

These are pics of the Sparkling mead awaiting labels and some still needing "baskets" to hold the corks

I'm sure Perry can afford packaging and mailing the mead out to everyone, and you'll have an extra $100 to spend on forum upkeep!

Everyone wins.

Except maybe Perry.

I have a bottle of the sparkling mead that I have been saving! It does taste wonderful! I bought it at the Honey Harvest Fest in September!

Next time I come to the US to visit my sister I'll have a stronger arguing point to convince her to take me to visit Nova Scotia.  I still feel bad that I didn't make it this past summer----even though it was before your suggested offer.

For folks that are from a different continent I will up the ante to a bottle of each mead! How's that for incentive? ;D

You may have upped the rewards but, believe me, nothing you could offer would make me want to visit you more than I already do.
When my nephew comes here to visit, he usually goes home, back to the States, with a bottle or two of my mead.  He's my sister's youngest so maybe, he'll effectively increase the pressure on my sister to drive me up to you.
I have not given up hope yet.
I still think fondly of the time spent together with Blueblood when he came to Israel and I had a chance to do some touring with him. For those who might wonder, I'm that second person in his avatar on the forum.
I'm always open to hearing from forum members who are planning to travel to Israel.  There's a special "language" that keeps share.
