Today is cool, with a high in the mid 60's.  We'll reach 80 Saturday afternoon, followed by a dip to 45 after midnight, and a freezing 32 degrees on Sunday night before warming back up to the low 60's.

We are changing our clothes almost hourly down here to keep up with the weather!

Would you believe 29 this morning with a high of 53 and in the morning they say a 45 low and 70 by 4 PM. No wonder I have a cold.
Oh Les what part of  Georgia are you to visit if you don't mind my asking, other wise say it is none of my business. Just hope you all will have a safe and enjoyable trip.

-22 F is the forecast low for tomorrow and that's a real temperature.  With the wind, we'll have some -50 chills somewhere within a 100 mile radius of me.  Suppose to warm up some next week so I plan to resume bowhunting deer.  I did manage to finish nailing 400 deep boxes together and get a paint sprayer ordered.  Mostly inside stuff but I spent most of the day blowing snow but I was inside the cab of my forklift most of the time.

Our winter came on hard and fast.  I have a diesel UTV and the fuel has gelled twice in that machine, once in my forklift and in my bulk diesel tank.  I think I have everything "flowing" again!! ;)

Chip, your mention of -22 and hunting reminded me of one cold Elk hunt in Montana in the early 1970's.  It was -20 during the day.  We slept in tents.  Oh boy, those nights were long!  The heat from the Elk carcasses in my  Travelall iced the inside of the windows til it was hard to navigate home.  The Travelall looked like this one...A little newer then of course.

Those were great vehicles Lee!  Your story reminded me of my best friend who is a veterinarian.   He started one of the first embryo transfer services in the country.  His job required that he palate cows; from their backsides.  He often said that the warmest place on a farm in winter was up a cow's .....  You get the idea ;D

I added antigel to treat 500 gallons when I had the bulk tank filled last year.  Must not age well.  I pushed the utv in the garage and added a little seafoam the first time it gelled.  Worked good till it got LOTS colder.  Pushed it back in the garage yesterday, added diesel 911 and more antigel. I think I'm back in business :)

Thermometer reads -9 (temps still dropping).  They say the wind chill is -32.  Went out for coffee and a smoke with the dog and we (dog and I) decided it didn't feel a bit colder than -25  ;D. Ted

It was 12° here this morning with a 20 mph wind.  The weather gal reported this to be our coldest night in two years.  This is about as cold as it gets in our area.  I realize we are sissies when it comes to cold weather, but dang it is miserable cold here this morning.

Somebody said it was so cold here yesterday that the chickens were lined up at the Kentucky Fried Chicken place to wait for their turn in the deep fryer :)

Son and a friend fished Devils Lake yesterday and this morning.  Son fell asleep and his friend called 911 since he wasn't responsive.  Ambulance took him to the hospital after sledding a half mile to get him and sled him back to the ambulance.  Carbon monoxide poisoning and he was 98 F when they got him to the ER.  He's home now and safe.  My wife and I aged a few more years when he called with the news.  Last night was the coldest of the year.  -23 here and colder where he was fishing.  A happy ending to an awful morning.
