I'm a skeptic when it comes to using propolis to cure everyting.
BUT, experience has taught me that it is very effective for soothing and healing a sore throat.
I simply take a small chunk of propolis--about the size of a fresh pea, put it in my mouth and chew. For the first few moments you have to help keep it together and form it into a chewing-gum-like ball in your mouth (usuallly, till it warms up and softens) and from that point on you can continue to chew it for hours, till it eventually crumbles and disappears (I swallow the crumbs).
The taste is a little peppery, but not too much so, and it's not difficult to adjust to it.
The effect it has is soothing to the throat and, from my experience, it speeds recovery.
I always have a plastic container of scraped propolis in my freezer ready for my personal use or for the use of anyone who is in need and willing to try an unorthodox home medicine.
