That reminds me of a story.  My daughter saw a stray pug, found the owner, then saw the dog out wandering again when it almost got hit by a car.  So, she kept it.  It is blind in one eye.  Shortly after bringing it home, she woke up to find the dog had pooped in her purse!

When I was a kid, I used to bump my shoes on their heel and turn them upside down before I put my foot inside----out of concern lest a scorpion had moved in over night. 
Needless to say, I was never bit by a scorpion----because none ever had moved in.   :laugh:
