Pay Pal Changes
« on: February 08, 2017, 03:35:38 pm »
I just got a notice from PayPal that they are making lots of changes in what they allow us to use PayPal for.

One of the new restricted items is "Donations."

I wonder if WWB might want to consider "selling" different levels of status to us, rather than accepting donations?

I'd hate to lose this forum just because it can no longer accept donations.

Just a thought.

◦Donations.
◦Payments sent using PayPal’s friends and family functionality.

Not to worry my friend, not as long as the forum is wanted by it's membership. ;)
If the day ever comes where no one decides to participate and share their experiences and have a bit of fun along the way, that will be the day the forum ceases to exist, not a day before.

WM,

Thank you for your concern.  We are currently discussing options on how to go forward funding the forum.  Don't fret, as Perry stated,  as long as there is interest and participation, we will find a way to keep the forum going.

I'm not sure why but I find admin kind of frightening.  "Admin".  It sounds so final and mean.  "Admin".  When I say it out loud I swear I hear the theme music to Dragnet.  Is there a name associated with admin?  Like Bobby or Robin?  Maybe Chuckles?  Something less harsh and threatening than "admin"?  I'm joking around of course but ........

Please know I'm grateful for the entity admin, or, as I think I may refer to him/her....Smiley.  No, Chuckles, that's it!  Chuckles!

ted, and for all.......our 'admin' is our I.T. or TECH  person and volunteers to help us out........makes everything work on the forum/website, keeps it running, fixes problems, troubleshoots, supports staff, etc........... if it weren't for ADMIN, we would not have a site to come to!

Perhaps Admin might like to to use a different avatar each time he posts ?

Any ideas ?   Can't remember the name of the robot from "The day the earth stood still". There was also "Robbie". How about Danger Mouse ?

 :) :) :)

Okay, so I did some digging, and as I understand it, PayPal will still allow donations to be given.  They are no longer offering the guarantee (Purchase Protection) to get your money back if unhappy or feel ripped off. For the aforementioned areas, once you click "pay" you are on your own...
