Storm pics
« on: February 13, 2017, 10:41:58 am »
Not even noon yet and this is supposed to last till tomorrow.
Hope I'll be able to find the snowblower once it stops (beside the van in 2nd pic.)

I thought the purpose of leaving it outside was to be a gauge:

Can see the snow blower:  Don't need to blow the snow, stay inside.  Drink mead.

Can't see the snow blower:  too much snow to blow away, stay inside.  Drink more mead.

Can you step out in your house shoes and get a little better pic of the snow blower engine.  Want a better look to see if it will start  once you have had your mead

Hey Perry why don't you just have some mead?  Oh and by the way what's that blue thing under that pile of snow?  :o

I couldn't open the front door! :o
The dogs needed to go out so there was no way out of it. I pushed open the back door, grabbed a shovel and worked my way around the house past the van to clear away the front door in case of an emergency. The snow is at least 3' deep and the better part is reaching 4' with about 4 hours left to go according to the radar images.

Hard to see but the snow off the roof is only about 4' away from the snow on the ground. We have had lots of snow before (2 years ago) but not all in one whack like this!

Wow, Perry,

I hope the roofs to your buildings are able to handle the weight of the snow.

Wow, Perry,

I hope the roofs to your buildings are able to handle the weight of the snow.

2 years ago I had to shovel off the roof, first time I've ever had to do that. I will not be surprised if I have to tomorrow as well, at least some drifts. I haven't seen anybody outside anywhere for hours.

Street finally got done.  ;D One of my yard owners sent me a couple pics asking if the bees would be alright. All you could see were the stones on top.

Another weather warning for tomorrow night. No school the last 2 days, and Jane and I drove out to the honey house this afternoon and the roads were single lane, so not sure about buses running tomorrow either.
If I had any brains I guess I should try and home school my son, but then he never listens to anything I say anyway, he's 15 and knows everything.

I think I would enjoy that kind of weather for about one day.

Then I'd be ready for my warmer temperatures.

Wow Perry, that is a lot of snow.  Is it wet or dry?  I don't miss shoveling snow.  My back does not miss it either!  :)

The last week both storms have been dry types, but if you wait a day the snow settles and becomes very heavy. Also, where the snowplow driver throws his stuff gets packed hard and you really have to work the snowblower to bust it up and get through it.
