LazyBkpr,
I decided in my mid- twenties to follow a life plan of retiring at 50. I worked like a plow mule all my career and managed to retire at 51. By plow mule I mean no days off, any overtime available, etc... Sweet wife tracked me one year and I took 4 days off one year. That includes holidays-management always needed volunteers for fire watch on holidays.
The net result was that once I retired Sweet Wife had a honey-do list that spanned 20 years. Since I've retired, I've built two houses, three barns and about a mile of goat fence. That said, hearing her say, "You're my hero!", means a lot more than an "Attaboy" from my employers.
