you folks in the south are getting some unprecedented weather as well! we were just in captiva. we left here at 20 below zero, and it was in the fifties when we arrived at the fort meyers airport. EVERYONE was wearing heavy jackets, or fleece and long pants. we had an hour to about a 2 hour drive from fort meyers to the southern tip of captiva. the driver of the private bus we were on was wearing a fleece jacket, and had the heat turned on and the the fan on high!
one of the guys finally asked him to turn it off, and he asked us "aren't you folks cold?"
most of the resort staff and native floridians were all dressed warm and we were running aroung in t shirts and shorts. it was too funny.
yesterday, i stopped to gas up, and as is not uncommon here, mind you it was about 25 degrees below zero. there was a guy dressed in a heavy parka, with the hood over his head, workboots on, and WEARING SHORTS....
