Not Really a Pest

I think this lady was just looking to snack on toads:





Can you find her in this photo?





It took me a while to realize this stick was breathing.  I got my shovel and pulled her out of the hole to get a good look at her face to see whether she was poisonous.

She was not in the backyard, and I was 80% certain she was not poisonous, so I left her alone.

Cool snake Wman! Have never seen a snake in my yard. Is it a garden snake?

3Reds hopes she never sees this snake in her garden!

It is non-poisonous, and generally eats small animals like toads, frogs and small mammals.  This one was two to three feet long

I have 3 lizards in my yard. They used to keep the black widow and daddy long leg population down. But they've found 3 square meals a day at my beehives now... drat  :eusa_doh:
