Good Grief! I Just Realized That It's Two Days Till Christmas Eve!!

Two weeks ago a wonderful female surgeon, cute as a button, added three stents to two of my heart arteries. All is well, I feel Great! Have some swelling in the groin where the incision took place and left leg is swollen, and that is to be expected. I sound like a Stephen King novel dragging this leg around the house. 

The coolest thing is that I got to stay awake and watch the stent procedure. Fascinating! It was actually fun listening to the surgeon, surgical techs, and nurses banter and joke amongst themselves during the procedure.

FYI, if any of you forum beeks go thru a stent procedure in the future... Have no fear! It is a piece of cake and a wonderful alternative to open heart surgery. My personal doc said that I beat a very impending heart attack by noticing my symptoms and getting to my doctor.

I've been blessed with this happening in winter and not spring when the swarms are happening.

Anyway... time has stood still for 2-3 weeks and I just realized that Christmas Is Here! I've got angeled eggs, mashed pots, and cranberry sauce to make..

And I want to wish all of you, my dear bee family friends a Wonderful Christmas Season!

Hi Baker    Womens heart attacks, evidently, feel different than mens. For me, when I walked uphill with my dog, I got an 'odd' feeling right in the middle of my chest about the size of a ping pong ball, not quite a pain but uncomfortable, then an aching down both arms would follow, then as time progressed my jawline started to burn. Lasted about 15 minutes each time I walked uphill. It was an exertion signal for me. Then the feeling of acid indigestion comes around at any time of the day, but there isn't actually any acid taste in the throat.

Both my mom and dad had heart attacks so my doc had been after me for quite awhile to keep check for those signals. And I have high cholesterol as well. Just google 'women's heart attacks' and you will find a lot of into.

Hey Mikey, they used to be called deviled eggs, and I still call them deviled eggs. But I guess the newer cook books now call them angeled eggs.....  Aaaaannyway...

My deviled eggs.. I put the cooked yolks in a bowl, mash them up, add mayonnaise, a bit of mustard, and a bit of vinegar. Fill cooked egg whites with yolk mixture. Salt and pepper, and a sprinkle of paprika. Lots of variations tho.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

Jen, you're just getting started. I had my 1st. stent put in Mar.7th, 2007. I had my 9th and 10th stents put in Sept. 2nd. of 2017. Went back in the bee yard Sept. 4th. It's a breeze.

And NO, I'm not posting from the hereafter.

That reminds of the discussions we have on a potato dish.  We call them funeral potatoes, because they show up at every funeral.  A future son in law says his family calls them Heavenly potatoes.  A sister in law thinks they should be call Celebration potatoes, in celebration of the deceased's life.  They are good no matter what you call them and we are having them for Christmas dinner with ham.

I do know the ropes, hubby has had several stents from the waist down both of his legs, and now I have stents from the waist up. We always did fit like puzzle pieces  So hubby's three stent surgeries already had me somewhat prepared.

Merry Christmas to you Iddee and Mrs. Iddee! Please pop in from time to time, gets kinda quiet around here without you.

i don't have any stents, just some hippy hardware and now i am minus an appendix. appendix ruptured last weekend and a very good looking young surgeon removed it emergency surgery. modern medicine is incredible. spent the past week in the hospital. released friday afternoon. some pain and alot of drug stupor...........lol

we were having crab legs for christmas eve, and prime rib for christmas dinner, it will have to wait. guess i will be eating green jello with whipped cream tonight,
and maybe change it up and have red jello with whipped cream tomorrow.............lol.....

well, back to sleep and drug stupor!  lol!

Wasn"t I lucky checking out this thread--I learned that Jen and Iddee are both healthy after bouts with heart "issues".  I guess that people with big hearts can also have problems with them.  I'm  only sorry that it took Jen's heart to bring Iddee back into posting.

Glad your feeling better.  I have watched medical procedures done up until I seen a needle and I go out cold.  If they don't let me see the needle I am with them until the end.  Extremely terified of needles.  Glad you are on the mend and hope you had a very merry Christmas

And guess what? I'm terrified of needles too! But I've developed a kinda way to keep calm when the needles come along.

How is Theo?

Phoebe is such a cool dog! She keeps us chuckling all the time. Here's the cool part, we take her to doggie day care a couple afternoons a week so she can play with lots of dogs. She has a boyfriend named Barron, a Rottweiler. He likes to bolt underneath her and knock her over... and the serious play begins. It's hilarious.
