That's interesting, Mikey. My first reaction was surprise that they took the sugar syrup with Acai. But I thought about it, and bees will take sugar syrup with fumigillin mixed in, or red hummingbird food, or run off from candy factories, so why not.

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13592-015-0391-9 that shows that 1 day old bees are greatly effected by imidacloprid exposure. "The toxic effect of pesticide seems to be particularly dangerous in early life stages of honeybees." The older the bee, the greater the antioxidant protection.
Imidacloprid is found in a lot of things. It's used to treat pets for fleas, termites, sucking insects, etc.
