For women.
3Reds's childhood and current best friend is in the hospital tonight after suffering a heart attack.
She went to the ER on Wednesday with nausea and vomiting. She told them she thought it was either the salad she'd eaten for lunch or stress. Her husband has been in the hospital for the last two weeks due to his own health problems.
They sent her home with meds for the nausea that didn't work. This morning, she was feeling pain radiating down her arm, so she went back to the ER. They told her she "might" be having a heart attack.
Her doctor wanted to do an angiogram and said she might have a partial blockage somewhere. It turned out that two of her arteries are totally blocked, one is mostly blocked, and the fourth is partially blocked. According to 3Reds, he was surprised she was still alive.
I'm sure you beekeepers of the female persuasion are already aware that women sometimes have more subtle symptoms than men. Being the caregivers that you are, many of you also tend to put off taking care of yourselves in order to care for those around you.
I thought I'd share this video as a reminder:
