One other thing that is important, I like the stands to bee lowish, but at least 30-40cm off the ground 12-16inches.
This is so the early morning and late season ground moisture/damp doesn't hinder the hive from starting to work early in the morning.
IMPORTANT
Another important thing is they should bee Place in a leeward area, a friend did research last summer and the hives that were out of the wind gathered 30-40% more honey
They were 20 meters or yards apart in rappe seed fields.
