Recording a Bee Bole

I'm not sure if I'm in the right category with this.

In January, I went to photo and measure a bee bole. Here are some of my results.


 





The bee bole is in the SE facing gable wall of a building called the "Tithe Barn". The building was probably built in the 1600s and is not a true tithe barn, more like a mixed use farm building (no human occupancy). The bole has been infilled and rendered. The wall is 3' thick and the interior face is not accessible. A 1990s photo shows the cavity filled with mortared bricks.

Cool Barbarian, it must be a honer to carry on adding to the work started by Dr. Eva Crane. Did you ever get to hear her speak on any of the topics that she was so passionate about?

I did not hear Eva Crane speak.

Someone who was able to gather the data for "The world history of beekeeping ........." would be awesome to hear.
