Went to bed at 2am, temp -5 up at 730, 2 degrees. Bright and sunny now. I'm going try and start the diesel tractor today. The driveway is getting deep with snow. More snow coming soon with colder temp. Looks like another long cold winter here.

46 degrees and very heavy fog today. Yesterday the girls were out and about finding tan collared pollen coming back loaded. Like Jen have dandylions blooming with warm temps.

Hi Rod  :)  I just hope that anything blooming this year will have nectar to offer. My bees had to work real hard last summer to find any. Maybe my bees will then stay out of the red syrup hummingbird feeders  >:(

Good mourning, brrrrr,16F with wind chill 2F, high today 33F, glad i put out enough hay for the cows yesterday to last a couple of days. Weatherman says 50's tomorrow, this is hard on bees and i've lost 19 hives so far out of 75 (mostly from robbing),watching the hives on days in the fifty's and seeing normal looking activity, then on a 60's day raise the lid to check stores and find out they've been robbed out. :o isn't a good feeling. Groundhog says 6 more weeks of winter :'(, think i'm going to do alot of groundhog hunting this spring. 8) Jack

53F around midnight, down to 30F now on the way to about 20F in the morning.  A light dusting of snow for a short time today.  Brisk northwest winds.  I'm glad I don't work outside!

the storm rolled through and left a lot of white stuff behind.. started out blowing directly out of the south, and by the time it ended a day later it was blowing out of the north.. nothing was safe.. I have 10 inches of snow INSIDE my barns. Hives are all iced SHUT tight, but its also well below freezing, so I will leave them bee for a few days..  looks like WINTER arrived.

Don't forget the flip flops! I pushed snow to make it to the highway this morning. Took an extra 20 min. to get to work. The plows have hardly had to work this year, I would have thought they would have been out early this morning.

There are a few nice asylums for folks that like that kind of weather.         ;D

23 F. here, going to 60 F. Sunday. That's the weather for sane people.   ;D

The county doesn't do much snow removal when the schools are all closed. Just the main roads around here. Found them all parked at the coffee shop wasting my tax money!

Good Morning! Giving my buzzy ladies some sugar today.  Retrieved my infrared thermometer last night from my bee tool tub and discovered it's that time of the season to clean, organize and stock it up for the new season...

A high of -13 C (8 F) here today. We are having a prolonged cold snap at just about the worst time beekeeping wise. They have had a fairly mild fall/ winter up till this past month and now I'm worried about them getting stuck away from what's left for stores.
