House of the Rising Sun
« on: February 11, 2014, 09:38:15 am »
Just saw an article in the Houston paper that says the House of the Rising Sun in New Orleans is for sale.

http://blog.chron.com/ontheblock/2014/02/nola-art-house-for-sale-in-historic-treme-neighborhood-6000-square-feet-of-beautiful-squalor/?cmpid=homeshcat#20215101=0

The 6,000 square foot house is listed for $475,000 US, but needs a lot of restoration.

Anybody want to own a piece of history?

Very Cool Perry! The windows in the castle have been updated too, so the heat situation would be better in this castle.

But the ghosts might be as interesting...  ;)

Perry, My wife said she'd be willing to vacuum if I'd be willing to dust.   I'm not! I dust our place but it's a lot smaller!

Minniemo, I do what I can. We had visitors a couple of years ago and I whistled Green Acres and then told them the only reason I did it was that they would be humming it the rest of the day.  :D  They did and they weren't amused. Haven't visited since.

It could be worse.  I went around humming the theme song from The Muppets Show for two days once.   :'(

Does the lavatory sink/plant stand and the two pianos stay with the house?  The clothes line in the house adds such a nice touch as well. :D
