Infused Alcohol
« on: October 06, 2020, 11:11:32 am »
I heard about this last night and wondered if anyone else has tried using your wax cappings  to infuse honey flavoring in alcohol?  I have heard of vodka and Jameson Whiskey being used.  I guess you just place the cappings in a container covered with the alcohol of your choice.  Let it set for 1-3 weeks (time line is a little fuzzy) then enjoy!  The beekeeper using Jameson was then going to take those wax cappings and make lip balm.  No waste there!
Have you heard of this?  If so, why haven't you shared???

Never tried cappings, but have filled quart jars with cherries and poured, shall we say ""Kentucky spring water?"" over them.
It's really good.

I'm game!  And the couple that own the liquor store, around the corner, want to buy some honey.

No, I think it was drained cappings.  I used drained cappings.
