Last year I did vodka, rum, crown, jim beam, and some gifted moonshine as gifts. They all turned out wonderful! I used strained but not spun cappings, covered with alcohol of choice and let it sit in the dark for at least 2 weeks shaking daily. Filtered it and poured into thrifted crystal bottles and every recipient was well pleased. It gave the rum a carmelish flavor that was very pleasant. I don't like my whiskey sweet but it was good in the whiskeys too. The vodka was the most noticeable flavor change and the lady who received it swore by having a drink of it after supper and at bedtime. My personal favorite was the moonshine, it tasted like honey and the very slight texture change turned it into the perfect way to sip away a nice evening in front of the fire.
