Here in Israel simple cubed tomato and cucumber salad is probably the most popular vegetable salad. My wife gives it "life" with her own salad dressing. The recipe is one of those that don't have quantities but just ingredients. Everyone can adjust the quantities to their own tastes.
So what does she use?
Honey and lemon juice, seasoned with coarsely ground pepper, salt and mustard. The truth is, that you can use just about anything with the lemon juice giving not only tang but serving as a means of making the mixture more or less dilute, everyone according to their own preferences.
She mixes the igredients in a honey jar, closes it and shakes to mix.
By the way, it's an excellent way to get the last bits of honey out of an "empty" honey jar.
Why waste whats stuck to the walls of the jar?
