Hi River I only have one and that is Book of Honey by Ethel Eva Crane (Aug 21, 1980)  It is 175 page paperback with everything you would want to know about honey. It is the book that most of my honey knowledge has come from and is a reference and go to book for information about honey. Most bee books give you a chapter on honey that is like Chinese honey A little watered down this book gives you the full story and every thing you want to Know about honey in general. If you want to get into information overload, she also published Honey: A Comprehensive Survey by MSc; PhD Eva Crane (Jul 16, 1975) I have borrowed this book, but it is extremely scientific and you need a dictionary beside you for translation to understand it and at about 600 pages it is a little to much for a beekeeper to digest. It goes into the make up of different types of honey, listing the percentages and chemicals and minerals found in honey and at what concentrations they are at for the different types of honeys.
If you look at the reference material in the biography of a lot of bee books Dr Eva Crane and her works are listed as a reference. So a lot of us have read her works and not even realized it.

thanks apis, i have considered purchasing her  "Book of Honey" and also "The World History of Beekeeping and Honey Hunting". rather expensive text.  i have read many posts by you on your knowledge of honey and have referred to her in you posts on this. so a worthwhile read.  i was hoping you could tell me what your thoughts were about the other one, world history of beekeeping and honey hunting.  very intriguing to me.

Barbarian has contributed to the work started by Dr Eva Crane by measuring and recording the Bee Bole in the walls that skeps were kept in. She has most likely read more of the books that she has wrote. I would think there may be bee book by Dr Crane in used book stores in the UK at a much more reasonable price. could talk Barbarian and Denice1952 to be on the look out but we will only be told about the find when the find the second one.
