« on: May 10, 2025, 02:52:03 pm »
caught my 1st swarm of the season yesterday. i did hang up my smoker but i'll still collect swarms for my daughter. she drove up and got them and got them hived. this was my favorite kind of swarm. large ( 4 pounder ), at eye level, ( no ladder required ), & nearby. from the activity levels i'm seeing here i'm not sure whether this will be read.

I read it!  :)
I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led.  And through the air, I am she that walks unseen.

I  don't know how I overlooked this for two days!
I have read several times of this forum about retired beekeepers who have equipment sitting around and a swarm finds them. Even though they are retired, the bees haven't quit them.
Rober, I'm glad you have someone to pass them off to. Is your daughter enjoying her new hobby?
