POST MORTEM
« on: February 23, 2014, 09:10:41 pm »
A post mortem on a DBL.nuc
There was back up sugar on the top bars.
This nuc was robbed out over summer and feed all FALL long was lite going into winter.
There was a little honey but not much
As you can see on this frame there was honey only a few in. away. I had a little honey in the bottom box but all the bees where in the top box.
I seen no brood at all and there was only one side of a frame with pollen in the bottom box.
and the queen my she rest in peace  I say it was a freeze out  we where cold for around 6 weeks  . Plus not a very strong nuc {my fault}  still learning all my nucs where robbed out last summer and I had to feed all to get them up to weight  and still some where mighty lite . I should of combined but I did not I'm learning. Still have 21 hives ;D 2nd year I don't have to buy bees I may even sale a few nucs.
Thank you.
Say hello to the bad guy.

I think you said it. Death due to failing to combine.
